Bujumbura, Burundi – During a press briefing this Monday, February 26, 2018, the president of the CENI (Independent National Electoral Commission), Mr. Pierre Claver NDAYICARIYE, informed that as of today, 2018, the CENI had already registered a total of 390,137 voters including 191,699 men and 198,435 women, about eight percent (8%) of the total voters in the database.

According to Mr. Pierre Claver, 207 computers are already installed and in use. 143 other computers will arrive very soon to make a total of 350 computers. He also reported that most voters registration records from Embassies and Consulates General have not yet arrived in Bujumbura. The data entry work is being performed by about 1644 staff members who work in 4 shifts of 6 work-hour each. The data entry work will end in 20 days.
